Benoy is delighted to announce the promotions of Wei Tang and Yejia Zhu to Project Directors in the Shanghai studio.
Wei Tang joined Benoy in 2008. A Class 1 Registered Architect and PRC Certificate Planner with 15 years’ experience, Wei has an in-depth understanding of the entire project cycle, from initial concept, to detailed drawings and site supervision. Proficient at the design regulations and standards in Shanghai and surrounding areas, Wei has enhanced her expertise in commercial mixed-use projects, adapting international design to adhere local regulations and processes. Notable projects include Joy City, Hangzhou, a modern shopping mall and waterfront destination, featuring a landmark Central Plaza; MOMO Park, Xi’an, a 320,000 m² scheme with Grade A offices, retail and high-end apartments; and Gala Avenue Westside, Shanghai, a people-orientated and diverse commercial zone that combines offices, shopping, entertainment, as well as a green public spa.
Yejia Zhu BArch (Hons), MArch, ADPPA, ARB, RIBA, is an experienced, registered architect and urban designer with 16 years’ experience. Focusing on mixed-use urban design and masterplanning, Yejia has a keen interest in the ecological impact of architecture and design for the public realm. Throughout her career, she has developed a wide range of experience in China, UK and across Europe. She was involved in many prestigious projects as well as international competitions, working in various stages from initial design to construction completion. Yejia has been involved in the design and development of several notable projects across China’s thriving regions. These include Lize Capital Land, Beijing, a unique mixed-used development to create a landmark in the city’s fourth central business district; Cangjie, Suzhou, the first self-sustaining commercial shopping street project, covering an area of 30,000 m²; and Heji Yanghang, Nanjing, designed to transform the historical buildings and create a unique commercial space.
