Tom Cartledge hosted an invitation-only event with the Rt. Hon. Robert Jenrick MP, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government in the UK.
Attended by leading property and real estate professionals including Sir George Iacobescu, Chairman of Canary Wharf, Mark Bourgeois, CEO of Hammerson and Rob Tincknell, Founder of Areli, the virtual event discussed the topic of ‘get Britain building’. Economic disruption has escalated in recent months with the ongoing impact of coronavirus, particularly in cities where retail, hospitality and entertainment venues have been hit hard.
The group provided feedback on the launch of the Government’s consultation to reform the planning system to speed up and modernise the planning system to get the country building. Of particular interest was how reforms could help in the short term repurposing of buildings and spaces negatively impacted by coronavirus restrictions.
