Our project to transform Victoria Square in Woking continues to take shape with the Hilton Hotel now almost complete, as shown in this short video.
Benoy is delivering architecture, masterplanning and interior design for the approx 646 000 square foot project which includes more than 125,000 square feet of new retail space –with a 5,000 square feet Marks & Spencer – as well as 429 residential apartments, a new 22-storey four star Hilton hotel with conference facilities, a new restaurant unit on Commercial Way, two public plazas, a medical centre and 2,800 parking spaces.
The project is being managed by Victoria Square Woking Limited, a joint venture between Moyallen Holdings Limited, which owns Woking Shopping, and Woking Borough Council.
Commenting, Rob Bentley, who is leading the project for Benoy, said: ‘From day one, the regeneration of Woking has been about improving local infrastructure and public realm to create a revitalised towncentre. It’s been about offering a diverse mix of assets and uses, which not only help generate footfall and investment, but reflect the blurring of boundaries in modern life. Crucially, as COVID-19 has taken hold, we’ve seen just how important this work can be in reconnecting people with place and re-engaging communities with their local environment.‘
The project is currently on track for completion in 2021.
