While the topics of soaring inflation and record-high energy cost have impacted many industries, how should the real estate sector emerge stronger to tackle sustainability goals through the unpredictable disruptions and beyond?
On 31st July to 2nd August, the World Cities Summit in-person conference gathered government leaders and industry experts to build partnerships, share integrated urban solutions and address sustainable city challenges in APAC. Through round table and panel discussions, the event explores four forwarding-looking strategies to transforming cities – Decarbonisation, Disclosure, Digitalisation and Decentralisation (4Ds) as well as successful case studies from across the Asia Pacific region.
Benoy Singapore’s leadership, Terence Seah, Head of Hong Kong, Singapore and Shenzhen, and Wesley Louie, Head of Design, Singapore attended the conference to forge new partnerships and reconnect with existing contacts.
They also took part in the site visit to Bras Basah Bugis (BBB). The guides talked attendees through the historical and cultural importance of some of Bras Basah’s significant buildings which have either been conserved or adaptively-reused to preserve Singapore’s multicultural heritage and identity. The site tour shed light on the history of the area and how it has evolved and transformed into a vibrant, educational and cultural arts hub.
Wesley Louie commented:
“The pandemic has altered the way we build our business relationship these two years. It’s very nice to finally meet clients, partners and friends, new and old, in-person – sharing the design best practices from heritage preservation to sustainable and resilient built environment.”
