James Dixon joins as a Director in Benoy’s London studio

James Dixon has joined Benoy as a Director in our London studio. 

James brings extensive design experience, particularly around commercial and residential mixed-use schemes. 

Previously James was a Director at Glen Howells Architects, working on several mixed use schemes such as East Village Masterplan, connected to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for Here East and Brent Cross Masterplan for Argent. Before that he was a Director at John McAslan + Partners. Significant projects include Lillie Square, 808 homes as part of the Earls Court re-development for Capco; Stanislavsky Factory in Moscow, a RIBA 2014 award-winning mixed-use development and Holland Park Villas, a high-end residential scheme overlooking Holland Park, completed in 2018 for Native Land. 

His commercial works include Millbank Complex, a 300-key hotel and new British Future Film Institute, the regeneration of Heal’s Department Store offices, Grade 2* listed, and Dukes Court, Jermyn Street for the Crown Estate. 

Other works include the Grade 2* Friends House, London, creating a dramatic new auditorium and awarded a RIBA National Award in 2015, and Goldsmiths University Masterplan 2016, including two developed projects. He also completed the pioneering RSA (Royal Society of Arts) Academy which won the national RICS Award for Community Architecture in 2014. Recently he has been running the RIBA Student Mentor Programme 2020, working on significant regeneration projects for Enfield Council and Medway Council in partnership with Historic England in 2021 – 22.
