On 11 May, Benoy partnered with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to organise an exclusive guided tour showcasing new projects along the Xuhui Riverfront exclusively for ULI members. The tour featured a visit to Shanghai Mangoohub, for which Benoy provided masterplanning, architectural design and interior design services. Benoy proudly served as the representative for this newly completed development project on the Xuhui Riverfront.
Benoy’s Architect Associate Director, Shi Bo, and Senior Marketing Manager, Huang Yifan, led the tour of the project. We extend our sincere appreciation to the client, Mr. Xie Weiye, Deputy CEO of MANGO-XIANG Culture Investment Company, and his team for providing the detailed and informative introduction of the project’s journey, starting from the land acquisition stage to the design and completion of the project, and the subsequent operation and investment aspects.
The tour welcomed nearly 40 guests from diverse real estate-related industries, including renowned companies such as CapitaLand, Hongkong Land, Kailong, Swire, Poly Property, KPMG and Colliers International. The group also visited the Lumina Shanghai, a neighbouring development to Mangoohub, which was designed by Gensler and Arup.
Shanghai Mangoohub has been recognised with a multitude of prestigious awards since its construction. Notable accolades include the Gold Award for“Best Workplace Development”in the 2022 MIPIM Asia Awards, as well as distinctions such as Shanghai Major Construction Project, Shanghai Well-Organised Construction Site, Shanghai Star Construction Site, LEED Gold Award, Hunan Broadcasting System Best Project Award, 2‑Star Green Architecture, G1 Carbon Neutral, and the esteemed 2021“Magnolia”Award for Shanghai Construction Project (Municipal Quality Project). This particular award represents the highest honour for construction quality in the Shanghai construction industry.
Mangoohub, developed by Hunan Broadcasting System, leverage its brand resources to create a smart entertainment plaza that combines political savvy, cutting-edge technology and smart living. It is located along the media port strip on the riverbank of the West Bund in Shanghai’s Xuhui District. The project stands as Hunan’s largest cultural investment in Shanghai and has emerged as a cultural landmark in the city.
The design of Mangoohub includes 5 Grade A offices, associated commercial space, Mango π space, and a media plaza, which hosts festival events, high-profile launches, brand crossovers, IP production, video creation, art exhibitions, industry incubators, copyright dealings and talent cultivation.
