The highly anticipated Grand Opening of Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi took place on in late September, introducing a remarkable mixed-use commercial complex in the vibrant city of Hanoi in Vietnam.
Benoy were the design architects, in close collaboration with Junglim Architects. This long-awaited development seamlessly integrates retail, office, commercial, hotel and serviced residences, establishing itself as a one-stop urban hub for living, working, and playing.
Gregory Kovacs, Design Director and Project Leader, expressed his design vision, stating,
“Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi is a truly unique mixed-use development that is sensitively anchored in its urban context. Its cascading terraces engage with the West Lake and create a pedestrian friendly, human scale architecture facing the low-rise neighbourhood towards the east. With its prime location, it stands as a centerpiece of Hanoi’s West Lake new urban area, creating a landmark destination for local residents and tourists from Vietnam, Asia, and beyond.”
Covering a total floor area of 355,000 sqm, the architectural design of Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi features iconic façades that create a cohesive mixed-use development. The retail façades facing the West Lake boast a unique pixelated design that consists of stepping blocks in varying sizes. This design not only adds architectural interest but also creates spacious outdoor decks, allowing guests to enjoy the picturesque views of Hanoi’s famous West Lake while dining and relaxing.
The 23-story hotel, with its striking zig-zag façade, offers guests breathtaking views of the West Lake. . The angular layout of the hotel rooms allow every single room to have direct views of the West Lake. With 264 rooms and 192 residences, the development offers luxurious accommodations and 5‑star facilities for both short-term and long-term stays.
At the heart of the development lies a seven-story shopping mall spanning an area of 222,000 sqm. The shopping complex constitutes a significant 60 percent of the entire development, offering an immersive and diverse shopping experience. With 233 stores, visitors can explore a wide range of renowned brands across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, entertainment, and plenty of food and beverage offerings. The mall also features a cinema with nine screens and over 1,000 seats, the largest indoor aquarium in Hanoi, and a hypermarket offering a diverse range of products. This combination of entertainment options and retail offerings creates an exceptional environment in the capital city, catering to the desires and tastes of visitors from all walks of life.
Situated on the north side of the West Lake (Ho Tay) area, Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi enjoys convenient access to Noi Bai International Airport and is in close proximity to central Hanoi. This area is particularly popular among affluent Vietnamese residents and expatriates from various countries, adding to the allure of the development.
Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi stands as a testament to Benoy’s commitment to delivering exceptional architectural designs that enhance the urban landscape. The development offers a comprehensive urban hub for the people of Hanoi.
