About Lingang Open Zone Station TOD
Lingang New City in Shanghai is an independent satellite city leveraging its unique geographical advantages. Designated as a national-level “reform and opening up” pilot zone, it is supported by advanced manufacturing, shipping trade, and marine industries, pioneering progressive urban development through institutional, technological, and cultural innovation.
At the heart of Lingang New City is the Lingang Open Zone Station TOD project — a vibrant mixed-use hub integrating transportation, commerce, and public space. The two-line single-station design provides direct access to both Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the city center, serving as a connection point for external visitors and local residents.
The “Urban Gearbox” concept accelerates surrounding urban development through this TOD project, while also decelerating with expansive public spaces and nature-infused elevated walkways. This creates a dynamic, multifunctional “world-class reception room” for Shanghai, tailored to the daily needs and experiences of residents. The development seamlessly integrates the core TOD complex, major transit station, and open green spaces, establishing a truly immersive urban oasis.
