Benoy wins prestigious award at 2024 WAFC China

After a two-year wait, the 2024 World Architecture Festival China (WAFC) Awards were presented at a spectacular ceremony held from 25th to 27th September at Langjiu Estate in Luzhou, Sichuan. Benoy’s Lingang Open Zone Station Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) project won the 2024 WAFC Award for Infrastructure Design of the Year. Representing Benoy at the event were Yejia Zhu, Project Director, and Xianbin Ni, Senior Architect.

Xianbin Ni took the stage to accept the prestigious award on behalf of Benoy, celebrating the recognition of the the Lingang Open Zone TOD project as Outstanding Infrastructure Design of the Year 2024 for its exceptional and innovative approach to design.

The three-day 2024 WAF China Festival showcased architectural projects known for their innovative design concepts, construction excellence, and significant social value. Judged by an international panel led by WAF founders Paul Finch and Paul Hyett, the competition featured projects across various categories, including public facilities, residential, commercial, hospitality, and interior design. 

Out of hundreds of shortlisted entries, 26 projects were honoured with top awards. We extend our sincere thanks to WAFC and Langjiu Estate for hosting this memorable event, which brought together over 500 industry professionals from around the world.


Lingang Open Zone Station TOD Project
2024 WAFC Outstanding Infrastructure Design of the Year 2024

The Lingang Open Zone Station TOD project balances ecological design with commercial functionality, establishing a landmark at the heart of the Lingang Open Zone TOD. Designed as an Urban Gearbox,” the project forms as a catalyst for the surrounding area by integrating diverse urban facilities and meeting residents’ needs for daily life. 

The project aims to create a unified central activity area, a global consumer destination, an international headquarters hub, and a vibrant, mixed-use urban oasis.
