Challenge
Americanise a retail environment and crosscheck design concepts for a US$600 million renovation. The principal task involved connecting the asset to the surrounding Beverly Hills landscape, which meant permeating the structure with natural daylight, modernising the interior, and activating the street-level retail.
Solution
We began by reconfiguring and reconnecting the existing retail space to the streetscape. We also enhanced the internal parking structure and developed pre-lease visualisations to help prospective tenants understand the landlord’s design criteria and requirements.
Result
The street-level retail now offers a combination of full-service restaurants and fast casual eateries. Tenants have a strong street presence, with outdoor dining patios creating ground-level activation. Entries from the parking deck and street enable ease of access, while consistent tenant asset height and palm tree placing provide a comfortable walking experience, enhancing the customer experience.
