Challenge

We were briefed to create the architecture and interior design of a 5‑star, high-end business hotel in Beijing. Set to become a key component of the INDIGO mixed-use development, also designed by Benoy, the hotel had to be functional and sophisticated, offering a relaxing and contemporary space for professionals.

Solution

We designed a modern, bespoke hotel for work, wellness and comfort. Reflecting the area’s green surroundings and the famous 798 art district, we implemented a minimal palette of natural materials, with various textures and ambient lighting.

Result

A unique structure that echoes the natural and artistic elements of its local environment, creating a ​‘Zen’ feel to the hotel experience. With 369 guest rooms, including 23 suites, EAST Hotel provides professionals with an escape from the bustling capital. Facilities include a large, state-of-the-art business zone, indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa and gym.
