Challenge

Calgary-based food brand Mercatino made its first move outside Alberta by opening its first location in Downtown Toronto, on the 5th floor of the PATH network-connected podium at One York (Sun Life Financial) & Harbour Plaza Residences. Benoy provided design solutions for this ultra-flexible hybrid food court/food hall event and catering space.

Solution

The design developed by Benoy offers a modern and refined feel with floor-to-ceiling, south-facing windows, allowing natural light to flow through the hall. Steel, stone, and wood features were incorporated into the community seating area. The wall space is accented with marble and textured tiles, with low-hanging lights hanging over each table.

Result

Harbour Eats by Mercatino represents an innovative direction for F&B in an urban mixed-use setting responding to the needs of office workers, residents, and visitors.
