Challenge
To transform the former space of a renowned restaurant bar located on the ground level of Toronto Eaton Centre, with a new urban contemporary, upscale pub concept.
Solution
The design for Hendriks needed to position the restaurant as a distinctly chic, new concept of steakhouse-meets-oyster-bar. Located in a commercial stretch in downtown Toronto, Hendriks would be a heaven of top-notch casual dining exuding classic, warm sophistication.
Result
Hendriks’ award-winning design features a dramatic mix of quality materials: royal blue natural stone, and porcelain tiled floors and columns, wide wood planked flooring and panels, floating wood coffered ceilings, and walls with wood-panels and brick contrast. As an indicator of place, the entrance displays an iconic large scale, laser-cut black marble logo inset within a white marble flooring insert.
