Challenge
Shanghai ICC is an innovative mixed-use scheme, representing the future of architectural design. Featuring Grade A international office towers and luxury residence, Shanghai ICC required an additional retail feature. In designing iAPM, Benoy had to consider functionality and cultural relevance, whilst creating a modern and inviting space.
Solution
Themes such as Shikumen façade architecture and green urban spaces comprised iAPM’s design. Media wall installations displayed throughout, plus seamless transport connections, give the centre dynamic creativity and a sense of purpose.
Result
iAPM exemplifies the rich texture of Shanghai’s urban and cultural fabric. A prestigious seven-storey retail podium and key feature for the Shanghai ICC, iAPM offers a large, open roof terrace, landscaped with ‘sunken’ and ‘winter’ gardens. Leading down to the Fifth Avenue below, visitors are linked to the retail basement and major MTR interchange. The project was awarded the LEED Gold award.
