The overall challenge was to create a festive and inviting atmosphere authentic to Peruvian culture and the celebration of its rich traditions. The space needed to showcase the food as well as its preparation as the main attraction by including a show kitchen but also creating a synergy between the bar area, the open kitchen, and the adjacent indoor patio.
Different poles were necessary to maintain visibility between the bar, the open grill, and the various seating and lounge areas. While the concept focused on colour and texture to embed vitality and ‘fiesta’ vibes into the place, balance was necessary to maintain a modern edge and avoid caricaturizing folkloric iconography.
A distinctly Peruvian family restaurant that reflects the celebratory traditions and quintessential flavours by boasting a lively and visually expressive atmosphere. Jarana stands out among the curated restaurant tenants at American Dream as a unique and vibrant destination dining experience.
