We were asked to reimagine a tired and aged two-level concourse wing in an Arizona (US) mall. Our primary challenge was to create a luxury retail component and to enhance the customer journey from the arrival by providing a range of valet opportunities.
Reconfiguring an underutilized portion of the concourse, we created vertical circulation and a fully expressed two-level open volume. We also designed luxury retail façades, with exterior retail and F&B concepts flanking the new entry procession. Other arrival features include luxury drive pad, landscaping and customer valet lounge.
Our design, planning and wayfinding work supported the creation of the luxury wing at Scottsdale Fashion Square. Revolutionising the customer experience, the new wing reported a 40% increase in sales in its first year of business, and is the recipient of The Red Awards ‘Best Retail Project’ and an ICSC Global Design Award.
