To design the space for a new, family-friendly, taco & tequila restaurant bar at the heart of Canada’s largest shopping centre, the West Edmonton Mall; and to make it stand out among the restaurants on the mall’s ‘Bourbon Street’ strip. The concept relied mainly on cosmetic enhancements, as it needed to be developed within an existing restaurant shell and with minimum architectural intervention.
To make the space stand out and be uniquely appealing to mall visitors, the team designed a casual, yet festive concept that came to life with custom-designed, oversize graphics; neon-bright, colourful lights; deep green foliage; and a façade featuring an inviting outdoor garden-style spill out and an open, fun, eye-catching archway entrance.
The Taco Shop is a fun, vibrant, social-media-savvy, urban style, quirky, and festive taco & tequila restaurant bar that offers a space for celebration and sharing among friends, family, and colleagues. From the whimsical, outdoor garden-style spill out, through the festive bar area, to the urban street, patio-style back space, perfect for group events, The Taco Shop has something to offer for everyone.
