West Bund Central is located alongside the Huangpu River in the east of Xuhui District. It is connected to Xujiahui, one of the sub-centres in Shanghai, and Inner Ring Road. Benoy is responsible to provide the architectural design for the retail podium at Plot D.
The design of the retail podium aims to deliver a luxurious shopping experience, highlighted by an innovative ETFE canopy that offers a spacious semi-open area for diverse retail activities.
Westbund Central represents Hongkong Land’s largest single investment, totaling up to US$8 billion. Located along Shanghai’s Xuhui waterfront, the project spans five major plots and integrates high-quality retail spaces, office buildings, residences, hotels, and cultural facilities. With a total gross floor area of 1,100,000 sqm, it promises to be a premier mixed-use development in mainland China.
