Landscape Architecture London studio promotions
We are delighted to announce two promotions in the London Landscape Architecture team. Annamari Comrie has been promoted to Associate Director, while Francesca Farrugia has been promoted to Senior Landscape Architect.
Annamari brings over two decades of experience having worked on projects with a wide range of scales, typologies, and contexts in Southern Africa and more recently in the UK, India, Egypt, and the UAE. Prior to joining Uncommon Land, Annamari worked for GREENinc Landscape Architecture in South Africa, where she worked on the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg, the Freedom Park in Pretoria, Conradie Park in Cape Town, and Forum Homini situated in the Cradle of Mankind; which is a world heritage site. Annamari holds a degree in Landscape Architecture and is registered with the South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession (SACLAP).
Francesca has a background in architecture and urban design, with a particular interest in public realm projects. After graduating from the University of Roma Tre, Francesca began her professional career with Autonomy Think Tank in London where she worked on aged care projects and design guidelines for Hackney Council. Prior to joining the team, Francesca worked at Bradley-Hole Schoenaich, where she worked on the design of the North East Lands project in Wembley.
Commenting, Angus Palmer, Director, Landscape Architecture, said: ‘Both of their promotions are a testament to their hard work, diligence, and remarkable contributions to the projects they have been key members of. They have both been great examples of how pushing oneself out of their comfort zone has led to growth.
In the last 18 months Annamari has helped navigate a variety of projects of different scales and challenges and done so with tenacity and determination. Through the process she has shown excellence in design and project leadership. As the team continues to grow, so has the opportunity to dive into challenging work and Francesca has certainly shown signs of strong leadership and organisational skills, while also taking responsibility and showing accountability in her role navigating challenging projects.’
