Benoy project Royalmount opens its doors in Montreal
Benoy is delighted to celebrate the formal opening of Royalmount,
Benoy was lead architect on the 86,000m2 scheme which is set to be the largest private development in Quebec.
The world-class district located in the midtown features 170 stores including 60 restaurants and cafes. The retail offer includes 50% new to market concepts and the largest concentration of luxury flagship stores in the province of Quebec. The scheme is also home to a 77,000 square foot urban park and public art trail, featuring more than 60 art installations from local and international artists
Around 50 per cent of the stores that will eventually occupy this first phase of the development are set to open this week, with the rest opening over the next 10 months.
Big-name luxury stores, like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent, are scheduled to open this month, while upscale home furnishings company RH is scheduled to open a store next summer.
Benoy were tasked with creating a vision for a significant mixed-use development on a large, well located, brownfield site. With retail, leisure, hospitality, office and residential developments, the space is set to create a new urban destination in the city.
Sitting within an extensive public landscape, Royalmount provides seamless connections to the city’s transport and existing street network. Royalmount will house boutiques, restaurants, offices, green spaces, common areas and unique attractions. The retail environment, internal leisure, and outdoor promenade reflect the character of Montreal’s traditional buildings, assembled and finished in a more contemporary language. Comprising three major elements, Royalmount is expected to reignite Montreal’s cultural spark.
