Azaria Lee Moderates Panel on Urban Resilience at ULI Reimagine 2024

Panel Discussion: Sustainability & Resilience – Building Tomorrow’s Southeast Asian City

On November 19, 2024, Azaria Lee, Project Director at Benoy, moderated an engaging panel discussion at ULI Reimagine 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The session, entitled "Sustainability & Resilience – Building Tomorrow’s Southeast Asian City: Resilience at the Forefront," explored strategies to enhance urban resilience in response to Southeast Asia's evolving challenges.

Joining Azaria were three distinguished panellists, each bringing valuable expertise to the discussion:

• Ms. Siew Kim Beh, Chief Financial & Sustainability Officer, Lodging, and Managing Director, Japan and South Korea at The Ascott Limited.

• Mr. Scott Dunn, Chief Strategy Officer & Vice President, Asia at AECOM.

• Ms. Theresa Sheils, Regional Managing Principal, Asia Pacific and Middle East region at Gensler.



Key Discussion Points

The panel addressed critical regional issues, including mitigating climate change risks through resilient urban design, balancing coastal development with environmental preservation, and integrating tourism infrastructure with sustainable development goals. Panellists discussed how countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand are navigating these challenges while aligning economic growth with community and environmental wellbeing.
