Benoy engages in FacadeLAB Q&A Session on curtain wall facade at CADE 2024
The China Architectural Design Exhibition 2024 (CADE) was held last month at the National Exhibition & Convention Centre in Shanghai. As a longstanding partner of CADE, Benoy was honoured to participate in the FacadeLAB Q&A session, focusing on innovative curtain wall façade design, represented by Wei Tang, Project Director at Benoy Shanghai Studio.
This year, CADE’s exhibition revolved around the theme of“Renewal and Innovation,” with a series of conferences and roundtable discussions to showcase how net-zero, sustainability, artificial intelligence and human-centric design influence the architecture industry. Special thanks to Yu Hui, Managing Director at RFR Asia, who curated the FaçadeLAB session and posed questions to the panellists on their views on responsible and sustainable practices within the built environment.
Industry leaders from Chinese and international materials companies presented solutions to 15 key challenges in curtain wall design, presenting advanced design techniques, case studies, and cutting-edge technologies. The event also featured examples from six landmark projects, demonstrating recent breakthroughs in curtain wall innovation.
FacadeLAB’s New Format
This year’s FacadeLAB session introduced a fresh format, inviting representatives from both the design and construction sectors. Six leading curtain wall construction companies showcased their latest solutions while sixteen architects from world-renowned firms participated in a dynamic Q&A session.
